What messages will resonate most with our target market?
Many organisations have so much to communicate to their customers, potential customers or members that is sometimes hard to know what message will resonate the most.
Many have a limited budget so want to ensure that they focus on the most effective messages. Finding out what people know, what they value, and the language they use to describe these values is the first step in creating meaningful communication.
A simple way to do this is to conduct a survey that will tell you:
- What your community (your customers, your members, the general public...) knows about you already and knows and thinks about the issues that are important to you.
- The language that your community uses to talk about these issues, or about their values.
- Which of a series of test messages resonates with them the best.
